Survivors of Suicide Event

The Survivors of Suicide Program is a peer-led initiative developed in response to community need, aimed at bringing together individuals who have struggled with suicide personally or have experienced suicide loss.  Our programming includes two types of sessions:

Community Care Sessions: These biweekly peer-led support sessions include optional discussion topics and prompts, but the bulk of our sessions will include an Indigenous model of sharing called the ‘Circle of Voices’. Through compassionate conversation and storytelling, these sessions offer an accountable, healing space for those impacted by suicide to gather, share, and grow together.

Events: SOS events provide participants with additional opportunities for connection, community, and wellness outside of regular session programming. These offerings are designed to create supportive, low-barrier spaces where participants can engage with one another through shared experiences, meaningful conversation, creative exploration, movement, and grounding activities. The intention behind these weekly offerings is to foster ongoing connection, reduce isolation, and support participants in building community and personal wellness practices in a gentle and accessible way. Each offering will center care, peer connection, and emotional safety while encouraging participants to engage at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

All SOS offerings are intended for those who have been personally affected by suicide, whether through the loss of a loved one, experiences of suicidal ideation, or survival of a suicide attempt. Registration is required for all SOS offerings.
